Our Mission:

The Mission of the St. Joseph Museums is to collect, preserve, and showcase the natural and cultural heritage of the City of St. Joseph, Missouri, and the surrounding area.

St. Joseph Museum - The St. Joseph Museum is the oldest of the four museums in the St. Joseph Museums, Inc. system, beginning in 1927 as the Children’s Museums of St. Joseph.

Glore Psychiatric Museum - The Glore Psychiatric Museum chronicles the 130-year history of what was once known as the “State Lunatic Asylum No. 2.”

Black Archives Museum - The Black Archives Museum, originally known as the Knea-Von Black Archives, was founded in 1991 by Jewell Robinson, a former teacher at Bartlett High School in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Wyeth Tootle Mansion - St. Joseph is known for its beautiful mansions built around the turn of the 20th century, and the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion at the corner of Eleventh and Charles Streets is a prime example.
