Pony Express Riders

On the Winds of Destiny A Biographical Look at Pony Express Riders
Traveling Exhibit Created by St. Joseph Museum, Inc. St. Joseph, Missouri

“On the Winds of Destiny” is the first exhibit to highlight 61 Pony Express riders from all sections of the trail and to discuss the founders, the superintendent and division superintendents. It is the first extensive exhibit to feature biographical information, adding a human dimension to the historical facts of the Pony Express saga.

As many Pony Express researchers have discovered, there are no surviving business records. As a result, such historical information must be sought from a variety of sources. To date, the St. Joseph Museums, Inc. has confirmed 193 known Pony express riders. Photographs and biographies have been researched for 61 riders, 3 founders, 1 superintendent and 4 division superintendents. All are featured in this exhibit.
